Woops

Uhh.. skipped my afternoon snack and went to workout. Me: "I was on the phone and just didn't get to eat before coming in." My trainer: "Do you forget to breathe? Then don't forget to eat." I could tell a big difference in my weight training. Basically, I was "worthless" tonight. :) My leg and arms cramped up. I had no drive to push the weight. And it was just overall pretty sad. But he gave me a meal plan that I can use forever if i want. It tells you what to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and all the snacks in between and around. Turns out, it's okay to eat late in the evening. Trainer's rule: if you are hungry, eat. But don't eat cake. Ok, i added that last part about the cake, but if you think about what most people are eating late at night, is it oatmeal with fruit? No, it's cake and ice cream.

Oh yeah, I suck at drinking water. I just can't get it into my head that water is the source of life and without it I shrivel up and get leg cramps. Doh! And so, my pretties, here is a nice recipe [trainer approved] for you to enjoy as you try to find the happy healthy place in life.

Waldorf Salad

1/2 cup walnut halves
1/2 cup nonfat yogurt
2 Tbsp light mayo (trainer likes canola mayo)
2 Tbsp minced parsley
1 tsp honey
1/2 lemon zest
black pepper
2 large crispy [Gala] apples
2 ribs celery sliced
lemon juice from 1/2 a lemon
grapes

Mix all that stuff and eat it with a protein. My suggestion? The rotisserie chicken from the grocery store- just take off the skin. Trainer approved that part, too. He also said canned chicken is good.
