I picked up Jessica Seinfeld's book this week. It was on sale in that discount section of the bookstore. I've been eyeing that book for quite sometime. This woman is a genius, hands down. She sneaks in nutritious ingredients into normal meals or college food so that picky eaters and small children won't know the dfference. For example, in the chili recipe, it shows one of her kids saying "Ew, beans are yucky!" and a little picture of her being sneaky thinking "Next time i'll puree it!" All pictures in cartoon form, of course, which makes it even better.I am an aspiring cook and entertainer. I want to sneak vegetables into my food. I want to make crudites baskets and fancy dips for my guests. Periodically, I will update this recipe book i've been making. It's a 3-ring binder organized by type of recipe. I put a picture of a chipper 1950's housewife on the cover. One day, when I have a kitchen of my own and an income to support the purchase of ingredients, I will begin experiementing with these recipes. Guess which sections are the biggest? Dessert is #1 of course and meat/main dish is the 2nd. Bet you could have figured that out. I think it's fun when people share their recipes with me. I always keep the ones people send me, because it's nice when you're flipping through the book and reminded of your friends.
